Jessica Johnson

In 1999, Jessica began her journey of practicing yoga to relieve pain from her own scoliosis diagnosis and is heartfelt about helping others on their path to healing. Jessica started teaching yoga in 2009 and runs her own studio, Mattawan Yoga. She is a CYT 500 (Advanced Certified Yoga Teacher) trained in Classical Yoga and Kundalini. Jessica has been teaching yoga full-time since 2014, after completing her first 500 hour yoga training. Jessica has taught as head assistant in multiple 200- and 500-hour yoga teacher trainings with Sangha Yoga Institute and Raviana Yoga.
Jessica is sincere about helping her students translate a doctor’s diagnosis and empowers students by designing yoga sequences specifically for their needs and teaching modifications that work for them. There are many pieces to the puzzle of having scoliosis and back pain. Jessica will help you put the puzzle together to reduce pain, stabilize, lengthen, strengthen, align, release fascia, relieve tightness, navigate other conditions such as arthritis, and so much more!
